typical repurposing of buildings in Marfa
No idea what this was - no signage
liked this restaurant
as above
one more of same. fancy tequila here
Some boxed wine to finish off the evening and separate big beds to prepare for an early departure to Marfa, a town in west Texas that once had been a fairly prosperous cattle town and was now what S said was the hippest lilttle town she had ever seen. It was a masked or hidden hipness that didn’t say its name. It was a fun reworking of various old buildings to give them a modern often minimalist look. Had a special tequila in the best of these last. Town was practically devoid of open restaurants so we went on 21 miles to Fort Davis which had one open cafe and we had the BLT and the Chilpotle Burger; not bad. Place and fudge and a soda fountain. We took route to the Indian Mountain State Park Lodge just out of town and up in the hills and it was an CCC lodge from the 1930’s! Read a copy of The CCC - A Handbook for Enrollees. Dip in the pool and a ride up the mountain for a sunset beer. Supposed to get down to 36 tonight.
If this guy would have ever shown up we would have been happy - looking through the window was pretty interesting though
