Light rain in the early getting-up time. Hardy breakfast of rice, hardboiled eggs and spinach. Out the back way on back roads as before. Huge conversation about eating squirrel with proprietress of general store. Turned out to the coast on 20 and 128 from somewhere south of Logoda. Stopped for barbecue on the north side of Clear Lake. In Booneville took the obscure coastal going road known as Mountain View Road to Point Arena lost in heavy fog, thence south on 1 to Bodega Bay, Bodega itself and over hill and dale to Petaluma hopping the 101 to Navato where S. had scored a semi-private two bedroom situation in the Belle Marin Keys area of that place. Bike ride in the approaching dark out the dykes toward the top of San Francisco Bay.
