Cartour Spring 2017 number 7

Tuesday March 21st (actual)

S, M and the Cracker
S got it
Not a travel day in any sense. Sitting by the hearth and burning oak. Good solid rain but warm. G's gone to Oprah Bob's even though it is his (G's) 68th birthday. K off to Tri-County Produce for ham hock and on to fish place on the wharf for oysters to celebrate.
Washed clay mud from Belle Marin Keys off my bike tires in the clear warm rain water running in the Cota Street gutter. Very satisfying. Took nap.
K, S and I bike to farmers' market, fish shop out at marina and wine shop at old El Paseo in a light rain. K prepares bean and hock soup, strawberry shortcake and various appetizers for small soiree of the 4 of us and Richard and Stephanie.  G and I attacked the two dozen mollusks with fortunately dull knifes and rubber gloves. Fire in the hearth is revitalized and a fine evening was passed by all. There was some wine called Sancerre (Loire Valley) and a Grenache (San Ynez Valley).
Real good
